About ACAC

ASEAN and Internationally recognized programs prepare students for a successful career in the hospitality industry.

The Academy of Culinary Arts Cambodia (ACAC) is a hospitality training institution that offers its students an internationally recognized higher diploma/associate degree in the culinary arts. The Academy provides instruction in Khmer and English to students who have completed secondary schooling.

Our vision and mission is to train Cambodian youth to be competent, skilled ,and professional players in the hospitality sector. By exposing our students to a wide range of hospitality courses, and through theoretical and practical instruction, regular internships, and on-the-job training in partner restaurants and hotels, we help each student manage change and prepare for real-life challenges in the workplace.

The ACAC is the first culinary academy in Cambodia with an international hospitality curriculum that aligns with ASEAN standards and a Swiss work ethos. As the country’s first Public-Private Partnership, key stakeholders from government and the private sector have come together to address the shortage of educated and skilled employees in the hospitality sector and to forge new opportunities for youth skills development and unemployment reduction through the Academy in Cambodia and throughout the region.

The Academy offers a two-year diploma in culinary arts, accredited through the Swiss Hotel Management Academy Lucerne (SHL). Instruction is in English with Khmer translation. The curriculum exposes students to a comprehensive range of courses covering the interconnected areas of the culinary industry. We combine theoretical and practical study, craft-based learning and internships in recognized hotels, restaurants and related institutions. Students’ intellectual abilities are also developed through the general education component of the diploma program. The Academy ensures that its graduating students possess valuable transferable skills, such as discipline, respect for all, truthfulness, adaptability, the spirit to accomplish, and motivation for lifelong learning. The Academy provides education to students of any race, nationality, sex, color, religion or belief who have completed a high school  school program.

Motivated by our vision and mission as the leading premier culinary training institution in Cambodia, we commit to deliver the best culinary training in terms of excellence, practice and professionalism that reflects the contemporary culinary industry and current trends.

Message from the Dean

The culinary and hospitality industries offer exciting career opportunities for young people seeking a fascinating and rewarding profession, and who want to be part of a fast-changing, innovative, and dynamic world.

Despite economic fragility and volatility in the wider market, the travel and tourism sector is expected to grow faster than the wider economy and many other industries over the next decade. By 2026, travel and tourism will support over 370 million jobs. Such strong growth requires educational institutions to take a close look at new trends and changes in the industry and to tailor their programs to ensure they are designed to equip graduates with the relevant knowledge that will help them advance their careers.

In Cambodia’s expanding market, key stakeholders from government and the private sector have come together to sustainably strengthen local talent, address the shortage of educated and skilled employees in the hospitality sector, and forge new opportunities for youth skills-development and unemployment-reduction through the Academy of Culinary Arts in Cambodia.

The Academy of Culinary Arts Cambodia (ACAC) will be the key player for quality education in the hospitality industry. Our educational approach balances craft-based learning with theory, which helps students to develop a solid foundation to successfully initiate and manage their future career path. The faculty, the facilities, a dynamic atmosphere and the commitment to quality and productivity all guarantee that effective learning can take place.

All of our investments are focused on our students’ success, from our expert faculty to outstanding facilities and an infrastructure that meets their needs. Our priority is to optimize our students’ development and employability. It is our mandate to ensure our graduates are skilled in all aspects of today’s hospitality sector to meet the hiring needs of the industry and get a head start when joining the professional world. We look forward to welcoming you at the Academy of Culinary Arts Cambodia.

Markus Kalberer, Dean
