Being part of the ACAC community means being part of a worldwide community of chefs and hospitality professionals
At the ACAC we seek to promote active learning both inside and outside the classroom with an emphasis on building friendships and having fun. We strive to enhance our student’s educational experience by conducting diverse social, cultural and leadership development activities.
“The study field trips we did were definitely some of the highlights during my studies. While it was an effective opportunity to enhance our knowledge and skills in a new environment it was also a great moment to bond with classmates and increase the team spirits”.
SAMBATH Sakada, Cambodia, Class of 2017
“While I did face challenges during my internships, I had an incredible experience. I proved to myself that I can be self-sufficient, live and work using another language, and adapt to life in a different country. I have a new confidence to strive for the things I wish to do”.
SAMBATH Vyvann, Cambodia, Class of 2018
Teaching and learning experiences that take place outside of the confines of the classroom walls have a range of benefits for both students and instructors. When students are asked to put into practice “in the real world” what they have theorized about from behind a desk, the result is a student-centric learning experience that enhances learning and fosters personal and social development.
Students who engage in learning experiences outside of the classroom report having higher levels of motivation, recall the course material more vividly and have improved academic performance in the class.
At the ACAC, students are exposed to team building activities, study field trips to learn more about local products and production and internships in Cambodia and abroad.
